Your donation to The Grizzly Fund supports…
❋ Teachers & Classrooms
Every teacher receives grants for field trips, extra classroom enrichment, and materials.
❋ Art Instruction
The Grizzly Fund pays for our amazing art teacher so that all John Muir students can receive art instruction.
❋ After School Enrichment
John Muir has the most robust afterschool enrichment program of any school in the district through our IntraMUIRal programs. The fund supports the program and offers scholarships to students upon request.
❋ School Experiences
Funds support our library, garden, physical education, and 5th grade Outdoor School!
❋ Math & Literacy Help
Our PTA also funds incredible full-time literacy and math support experts who are in every classroom, four days a week. This means that teachers have more capacity to give individualized attention to every child.

What is The Grizzly Fund’s goal?
For the 2026-27 school year, our goal is to raise $175,000 during the Grizzly Fundraising drive. The drive opens on August 27 and lasts until October 2.
How much should I give?
Any amount is deeply appreciated! Our programs cost over $850 per student – please give as generously as you can. For TK and Kindergarten families that were previously paying for private preschool, we suggest a donation of one month's preschool tuition.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes! John Muir Elementary PTA is a 501(c)(3) organization. Our Tax ID is 94-3063895
Can I use employer matching?
Please do check to see if your employer offers employee matching! Employer matching is an important part of our fundraising efforts and can double the impact of your gift!
How often are donations requested?
This is THE BIG ASK! The Grizzly Fund is our main PTA fundraising drive. By asking for contributions early in the year, we’re able to budget responsibly and distribute generously.
There are other opportunities to give directly to the teachers & staff during the holidays, to sponsor student readers during Literacy Week, and to support PTA fundraising during the Art Night Out. Learn more about donation and volunteer opportunities.
