I started my career teaching preschool on the central coast and joined BUSD teaching kindergarten 17 years ago. This is my fifth year at John Muir and I feel grateful every day to be working with such an incredible team!

Olivia Sanders

I am in my 15th year of teaching, the last eight of which have been as a Literacy Coach at John Muir. Before that I taught 4th grade for six years here at John Muir and in Oakland. John Muir is a great place to work and learn!

I started out as a first grade teacher and then went to Cal for my masters and reading specialist credential. This is my 22nd year in BUSD as a literacy coach and my 12th at John Muir. I love working with JM kids, families, teachers and this amazing team!

Before joining the John Muir community as a Special Ed teacher, I was a 1st and 2nd grade classroom teacher in NYC and Mexico City. I love working with teachers and families to to find the best ways to support our kids as they grow from year to year!
