PTA Community Evening Events

Sports Night

September — 5:30-7pm

This will be a time for kids and families to have some fun playing together outside!

Free pizza, fruit, and veggies will be offered to all kids and families at the start of the event.

Please RSVP to help us order enough food and sign up for the Gear Swap, and to make sure we have enough parent volunteers to help the game play!

Sports Night activities include:

  • Kickball game for kids and parents

  • Field games like kickball, badminton, cornhold, parachute play, and more organized by Coach Fowler

  • Gear Swap - bring gear you have outgrown and/or pick up something new-to-you for free!

Math Night

October — 5-7pm

We’ll have math games and materials to take home with you! This is a family event so please attend with your child so that you can learn and play math games with each other.

Free pizza, fruit, and veggies will be offered to all kids and families at the start of the event.

Math night schedule:

  • 5:00pm-5:30pm: Pizza and Drinks

  • 5:30pm-6:15pm: Math Games

  • 6:15pm-6:30pm: Awards and Raffle

Literacy Night

January — 5:30-7pm

A chance to celebrate our love for books and literacy with the John Muir Community!

Free pizza, fruit, and veggies will be offered to all kids and families at the start of the event.

Please RSVP to help us order enough food.

Literacy Night activities include:

  • Interactive games in a variety of classrooms, led by older John Muir students

  • A performance by Mr. Michael & the Story Time Band in the gymnasium

  • Q&A about our reading curriculum and information about encouraging a love for literacy

STEM Night

April — 5-7pm

An evening to pique interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics and encourage scientific curiosity in our students!

Free pizza, fruit, and veggies will be offered to all kids and families at the start of the event.

Please RSVP to help us order enough food! If you can volunteer during the event, please sign up wit the PTA.

STEM night will feature:

  • Interactive experiments

  • Demonstrations

  • Robots and more!
